Overview

A murine class IgG1 monclonal antibody to the K88a fimbral adhesin of E. coli, prepared by fusion with NS-1 myeloma cells. The hybridoma supernatant was concentrated by ultrafiltration and affinity purified using Protein-G. The finished product was standardised to a concentration of 1 mg/ml by BCA assay.

Freeze-dried in a glass vial.

Storage

Store the freeze-dried preparation at +4°C in the dark. Once reconstituted dispense into appropriately sized aliquots and store in 50% glycerol at -18°C or below in the dark. Once diluted to working strength the antibody should be stored at +4°C and discarded at the end of the working day.

Directions For Use

Reconstitute with 1 ml sterile distilled water. Care should be taken to ensure that the contents of the vial are completely reconstituted. This monoclonal antibody can be used in ELISA and immunoperoxidase detection systems for the specific identification of E. coli K88 positive strains, as described in the references listed below.
