New Head of VETQAS Proficiency Testing

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Neil Dear as the new Head of VETQAS Proficiency Testing unit in APHA Scientific. With a wealth of experience in veterinary laboratory work, management of services, and disease research, Neil brings a proven track record of success and leadership to our team. His extensive background in quality management and clinical diagnostic testing makes him an ideal choice to drive our department forward and continue delivering exceptional service to our valued customers.

Neil will be taking over from Paula Johnson who is retiring after 18 years of dedicated service. We would like to express our gratitude to Paula for her remarkable contribution and leadership. Paula has been instrumental in shaping the VETQAS, and her commitment to excellence has set a high standard for the future. To ensure a smooth transition Paula will be staying for a while to hand over the reins.

Neil shared his thoughts on his new role:

“I am honoured to step into this role and lead such a talented team. VETQAS has a strong legacy, thanks to Paula, and I am excited to build on that foundation. My focus will be on continuing to deliver the high standards of service our global customers expect, while also driving innovation and growth within APHA Scientific commercial department. I look forward to working with the team and customers as we embark on this exciting journey together.”
