Additional Information
This scheme will contain the most common sample types likely to be encountered in a laboratory dealing with submissions from companion animal (mostly canine and feline) clinical practice. The most commonly isolated organisms will be included. From time-to-time fewer common organisms will also be included.
In some laboratories, Veterinary comments on laboratory results can be part of the reporting process, especially when deciding whether an organism is considered a pathogen and the implications for diagnosis and any suggested treatment.
In the case of this PT scheme, veterinarians are able to make their comments in the comments box on the result entry sheets, however these comments are not considered as part of the PT scheme and will not be assessed.
