Overview
The purpose of the scheme is for participants to monitor the performance of their routine procedures for the isolation and identification of Salmonella and enumeration of β-glucuronidase positive E. coli. The PT scheme is divided into two parts: samples to be tested for E. coli enumeration and others to be tested for the presence of Salmonella. In addition, a statistical analysis report is provided on the E. coli enumeration results. The PT samples are devised to simulate compost samples.
